Voted “Happiest place in London”– Time Out, 2015
Welcome to East Finchley, famously dubbed “The People’s Republic of East Finchley” by Margaret Thatcher, and voted the happiest place in London by Time Out and one of the best places to live in the UK by The Sunday Times.
East Finchley is home to The Phoenix Cinema – London’s oldest continually operating cinema, a high street full of independent businesses, some fantastic pubs and restaurants and a rather iconic tube station. Not to mention East Finchley Festival – north London’s longest running community festival, and The Archer – a volunteer-run community newspaper which has been operating for 30 years.
There are so many different community projects and initiatives in N2 that it can be hard to keep track, so we’ve created a virtual hub to collate all those useful resources and celebrate all that’s great about living in London N2.
